Event Details

EXPERIENCES OF AN RSPB INVESTIGATIONS OFFICER:

Presented by Mark Thomas from the RSPB and David Hunt who is the Investigations Officer for the Peak District. The talk will look at case studies investigating wildlife crime, including bird of prey persecution in the Peak District National Park and behind the scenes stories of how the investigations unfolded.
Egg collecting was of course made illegal in 1954 and our picture shows a massive collection which was confiscated from a collector who was prosecuted. The egg being shown is that of an Osprey a bird that was driven to extinction early last century partly as a result of egg collecting.
It promises to be a fascinating presentation but prepared to be outraged!
