A Derbyshire WT wetland close to Belper.  Peregrines from the car park. Chance to identify early migrants by song. Toilet & café nearby.

  Another new venture for us. Start at Calver Bridge and walk by the river Derwent to Froggatt via the weir. Dipper, grey wagtail, mandarin duck and hopefully much more.

SSSI managed by Woolston Eyes Conservation Group. 4k east of Warrington. We visited in 2026 and saw the black-necked grebes. Host of other water birds and eight warblers.

  Near Bonsall, Matlock Bath. A visit to Mark Eddowes’s redstart area shown around by Mark. Good for warblers as well e.g. lesser whitethroat.

  RSPB reserve near the Wash near Boston. Great place for waders and wetland birds including nesting lapwings and avocets. Hides, café, toilets.

RSPB reserve near Castleford just off the M62. Reclaimed coal mining area. Booming Bitterns abound. Another chance for black-necked Grebe. Birds everywhere. Toilets, café.
